Nottinghamshire DTL County Championship

Sunday 19th of June saw Nottingham & District Gun Club host the 2016 County DTL Championships.

35 Nottinghamshire shooters were in attendance and took to the layouts to tackle the slight breeze and tricky light conditions. As the morning progressed a steady trickle of scores in the 290's came in with Andy Brown the best of the bunch sitting at the top of the board with a 298. However given the array of talent yet to shoot it wasn't a foregone conclusion that this would take the title. By lunchtime the man of the moment Lee Clements had returned to the clubhouse with a fantastic 100/299, continuing his fine form from the previous weekend in gaining a very hard earned England Team place. This would later be matched by Joe Booth enforcing a shoot off which Lee narrowly won to win his first Championship. Joe would take the Junior honours though as some consolation whilst Curtis Woolley took home the AA prize with 100/298. Andy Brown held onto A class and Gordon Hodgkinson and Jim Murdoch put in good performances to win their respective classes. Megan Gamble, Ken Rimington and Tom Tristram rounded off the day claiming the top prizes in Ladies, Veterans and Colts respectively.
