Sunday 20th October saw the return of this memorial shoot which had not been held for 4 years due to the previous venue closing. Nottingham Sporting Clays hosted the shoot for the first time and attracted a wide variety of shooters on very windy day. From established and well known sporting shots, England Skeet & DTL team members to local shooters who were new to competitions. Steve Pinch (Lol's son) has been very keen to re-establish the event and kindly sponsored the prizes, adding new trophies to rejuvenate the competition.
It was Steve himself that was to be the eventual winner - shooting on the very last squad - his determination to do himself and his Dad proud was the motivation he needed to score a fantastic 63 ex 70. This put Steve 2 points clear of the chasing pack. Barry Fox won the veterans on a superb 61, Liz Shanks of Northumberland (England Skeet Team Member) won the ladies with a score of 58 and one of our local ladies, Amy Fitzpatrick, won the Junior Trophy on 46. The final award went to Colt shooter Zach Osman who posted a cracking score of 54.
Everyone enjoyed the shoot and the feedback has been excellent - let's hope it has even more support next year. All proceeds raised at the event go to the British Heart Foundation.
